Brendan has been playing music since the age of 14, and quickly became familiar with many different instruments. This has given him the advantage of being able to create entire finished works of music with little help from anyone else.

Starting off with basic Portastudio equipment, Brendan created many wierd and wonderful songs that exposed such influences as Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, Jeff Wayne, Marillion, as well as various other progressive rock artists.

Ladibs Cricket is the start of something new. Brendan had spent many years working with other people, using his multi-instrumental and production skills to help create the sounds required by other artists. As with many people, the self confidence in his singing was rather low, until some great encouragement from family and friends led to the confidence needed to try something new. The new project needed to shy away from the experimental progressive rock genre of his previous projects, and settle into an almost ethereal, acoustic and ambient style. The result is a far more personal and approachable musical project that will be the main focus for Brendan's musical output for some years to come.....

Now that I've grown to enjoy and know this site more and more, I thought I'd take the opportunity to develop my entire music archive here. So far it has taken quite a while to find, convert and upload the music, but it's been great fun! While there's a lot of songs on here, it's certainly isn't quantity over quality, and this represents a musical diary spanning many years. I will turn 42 years old this coming weekend, and for my 'life, the universe and...
.....after lots of bullying, shoving in the right direction, advise and encouragement, I've actually got an album finished! My confidence needed all the help it could get, and the result has received some awesome feedback. This project will be worth continuing, and within a month or two from now I hope to have a new set of songs out. This is a great site, and I look forward to listening to the other musos on here and making the best of it. All the best for now to everyone on here, and...

Hi bro,
Thanks for your attendance and I bit you did feel what you mentioned when you wrote the second comment (just felt the need for a little bit of comedy);
It was great and you made me feel the same little laughter.

Very nice songs! Love it when you bring the piano into the song. I really ejoy Come Into The Room. That must sound nice on a good sound system! Actually, they all would sound good.

All the best to you!

Hey there! I am listening to "Caught in the Act". The vocals have that resonance that early David Sylvian w/Japan had...and I love me some David Sylvian! This reminds me of that "New Romantic" period vocally....and lovely instrumentation...is that a mandolin in the background? Loved it. Is this song on your album?

hello again! I finally had a little (short on time) ear, and I like the variety of the songs (though I couldn't listen to them all because of time), and I liked "the signet's calling" and "sink or swim" a lot!
Arousing emotions the way I like it hehe. I would even suspect a little peter gabriel influence amonst the other influences ;) But I might be wrong.
Good job anyway! I really like the softest songs.

Dearest friend,

If I tell you that I hardly held my tears for a while is not a lie and not a childish emotion.

5 comments it's not the whole world but it's a world of nice people for me and is precious.
I'm so glad to receive such wonderful comments from people who know what is music and it really impels me ahead. That's very great from all of you, so thank you for all nice support from all of you all the way and not only today. It also makes me happy to see that the bridge I like is made between 70's-80's and modern music.
Love you all the way and truly.

BTW: Dear Bette the words from B.Marley say: "No woman no cry" (if I'm not mistaken) and mine say: "No wounds and no cries".

Truly yours / Mehdi
